NTSC or PAL format at 24 frames per second is the standard encoding of a DVD. Change resolution, but if you are talking about a laptop then what you really want to find the brightness of the screen.

If you have an iPod after removing the DVD and I think mashed (movies) on my phone and then a resolution of 320x240, which is relatively normal.

To burn DVDs on a laptop, you need a DVD-DL, which have a duel after a trip straight to DVD DVD copy. Otherwise, the DVD-R is the most common.

Although his is not clearly defined the standard format for DVD-R format seems to be the most widely accepted.
